The Washington Community Health Resource Library is free and open to all regardless of health insurance status or medical group affiliation.

The Library lends its materials to members of the library.  Please come in to sign up for a library card. Library cards are available for all people over the age of 15 with a valid California Driver's License, Learning Permit, or California Identification Card.

Items can be borrowed - including books, children's books, videotapes, and audiotapes. You may check out two books for 2 weeks and/or two audiovisual material for a period of 3 working days.. You may also check out up to 5 children's books at one time. Items may also be renewed, unless another patron has requested the item.

Borrowing is free; however, items returned after their due date will accrue fines of 25 cents per day per item.

Copying facilities are available on-site to use when copying library materials.

CHRL Audio Visual Materials: Circulation Policy

1. Borrower: All borrowers must be CHRL cardholder or member of the library.

2. Registration: With registration for a Library Card, borrowers agree to be liable for and to assume charges for replacement of any videotape or CD lost or damaged while charged out to them. This charge will be $5 greater than the replacement cost of the tape since CHRL has to re-catalog newly acquired videotapes/CDs.

3. Loans: The initial loan period begins on the day borrowed and extends until the Library closing time three business days later. (Sunday is not considered a business day). Additionally, tapes due on a non-scheduled library closing will be due before library closing time on the first day the library is open. Only two items (videos or CDs) can be borrowed from the library i.e. either 2 videos or 2 CDs or (1 video and 1 CD). Videos/CDs can be renewed twice.

4. Fees: $20 fee is expected if the borrower is interested in borrowing the videotape from the library as a deposit fee. The deposit will be returned upon return of the borrowed items. Otherwise, patron can look at the video or CD in the library with the exchange of their driver’s license. Your driver’s license will be returned upon returning the CD/video.

5. Fines: There is an overdue charge of $.25/day, per tape or CD. Videotapes/DVDs are overdue if not returned by closing time on the due date. The overdue fine is payable when the videotape/DVD is returned.

6. Conditions of the videotapes: If upon visual examination there is an evidence of tapering, removal of seals with videotape/DVD, the patron will be charged replacement list price. Videotape or DVD should be in good mechanical condition.

7. Regulations: Borrower should understand that use of videotape/DVD is for home use only. Duplication in part or whole is prohibited.
