Elementary School Visits Program for learning Hand Washing and Medical Careers
Washington Hospital’s Community Health Resource Library introduces a special program for children. The purpose of this program is to make children aware of hand washing, germs, and introduce them to careers in medicine. We are now offering class visits for children in grades 3-5 that focus on health habits, the importance of proper hand-washing techniques, and an introduction to health professions.
Through stories, songs and interactive activities presented by the library and nursing staff, children will increase their awareness of healthy habits and disease prevention. Additionally, they will have an opportunity to meet a registered nurse and learn about vast world of health careers.
Located in the Washington West Building at 2500 Mowry Avenue, Fremont, CA, the Community Health Resource Library has an extensive collection of books, periodicals, media and anatomical models for patrons of all ages-including CHILDREN. These materials can be checked out FREE. The mission of the Washington Hospital Community Health Resource Library is to increase awareness of health and wellness in our community.
